Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition announces political endorsements


After careful deliberation, the Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition (SNMIC) has decided to endorse a select, non-partisan list of candidates for the upcoming general election.

"We feel that these candidates are as equally passionate about improving the healthcare system of southern Nevada as are our coalition members," said Charles Perry, co-champion of the SNMIC Legislative Task Force.

In the last general election, nearly 90% of SNMIC endorsed candidates were elected to office. These candidates went on to promote a myriad of positive health related issues. This year’s endorsements include several candidates that the SNMIC has endorsed in the past and are up for re-election. The non-partisan list of the endorsed candidates is as follows:

U.S. Senate: John Ensign (R)

U.S. Congress: Shelley Berkley (D) – District 1, Dean Heller (R) – District 2, and Jon Porter (R) – District 3

Governor: Jim Gibbons (R)

Lieutenant Governor: Brian Krolicki (R)

Secretary of State: Danny Tarkanian (R)

Attorney General: Catherine Cortez Masto (D)

State Senate: Sandra Tiffany (R) – District 5, Barbara Cegavske (R) – District 8, Dennis Nolan (R) – District 9, and Warren Hardy (R) – District 12

State Assembly: Garn Mabey (R) – District 2, Joe Hardy (R) – District 20, Frances Allen (R) – District 4, Lynn Stewart (R) – District 22, Valerie Weber (R) – District 5, Steven Grierson (R) – District 23, Morse Arberry (D) – District 7, Michael Smith (R) – District 29, Chad Christensen (R) – District 13, Marcus Conklin (D) – District 37, and Kathy McClain (D) – District 15

Supreme Court*: Michael Cherry – Seat C, Cynthia “Dianne” Steel – Seat F, and Nancy Saitta – Seat G
