Q: How do I become a member of the Coalition?
A:
Easy! Go to the Contact Us page of our website. Note your interest, background and how you or your organization can help assist our Region’s healthcare industry.
Q: Is the Coalition an association with dues paying members?
A:
We are not an association and there are no dues. The Coalition is a collaboration of individuals and organizations – all bringing their assets, strengths and programs together in a forum of cooperation and support for each other.
Q: What is so unique about the Coalition? How is it different?
A:
The Coalition is unique in that it is truly inclusive of all sectors of the community who are interested in growing and assisting our medical and healthcare community. The Coalition brings together representatives from local government, chambers of commerce, academia, medical institutions, doctors, nurses, medical associations, and the general public. This effort has never been done before in Clark County. We are growing daily in the number of volunteers, strategic projects and initiatives.
Q: How long has it been in existence?
A:
The Coalition began in April 2002 with 12 individuals challenging themselves to bring together a cooperative process and forum for dealing with our collective challenges and opportunities of growing and protecting the medical industry.
Q: What are the Coalition's goals and missions?
A:
The Coalition's mission is to create an improved environment for our healthcare professionals and their institutions and improving the area’s quality of life for Clark County’s residents. The goals of the Coalition are created from its Plan of Action. Currently, eight goals are being pursued through its task forces and volunteers:
Build strategic healthcare alliances within the county.
Improve the workplace environment and retain our nurses.
Establish legislative priorities for the Region’s medical community and educate the public and legislature regarding these priorities.
Develop a communication strategy for the Coalition.
Recruit needed healthcare professionals.
Support our educational institutions in their growth and needs.
Create a leadership structure to support the Coalition in its strategic focus and directions.
Recruit needed clinics, institutes and healthcare businesses to fill the gaps in medical services for the benefit of our residents.
Q: Are the meetings "just another meeting"?
A:
The task forces meet monthly and are not just another meeting. Each group is comprised of dedicated, professionals representing various businesses and organizations. They, collectively, decide on projects or activities. The task forces focus on "deliverables" and are action oriented.
